Mid Autumn + Halloween Lanterns
It's going to be the Mid-Autumn Festival come Oct where lanterns will light up everywhere. End Oct is also Halloween, where orange and black are the traditional colours. I took this photo while dining at Tang Dian Wang in Suntec City where its decorative orange lanterns happened to remind me of both the 2 festivals coming up.Traditional chinese orange lanterns or "orange pumpkin" Halloween lanterns...?

Formula One - Alice
My 2nd tribute to the F1 Race in Singapore, or at least, this is as far as what I will be willing to do for the event, short of maybe spending an hour at home to watch the finals on TV. By the way, Alice is the name on the Ferrari.

Galloping Nomore
Went down to Gallop Stable at Pasir Ris today with my friends to check out another dog-friendly place and at the same time hoping to take some photos of the horses galloping. But what I saw there were horses and ponies kept in small ranches that barely gave them any space to be galloping. Other than circling few rounds with children on their backs, the horses could only reach out to the hands of the visitors giving them little feeds. Somewhat it was only sad eyes that I saw when my camera zoomed onto the faces of the horses and I thought, "Weren't horses supposed to be galloping freely in the nature?"

Japanese Warrior Battle
Dined at Ebisboshi Illuma and was attracted by the lantern statues of Japanese warriors that stood out majestically on top of the restaurant entrance. It was a welcoming sight to bring one into the world of Japan.

Scars (Southern Ridges)
Came across a few trees that were seemingly scarred by the creepers that had clinged onto their trunks as they developed. Scary what deep scars such slow-effect strangulation could leave behind over the years.

White Petals (Southern Ridges)
A collection of white flowers that I shot along my journey between Mount Faber to Hort Park. Yellow buds with the whitest petals.
Purple Flowers (Southern Ridges)
Took a lot of photos of flowers at the Hort Park, the ones in purple stood out most among other colours.

Southern Ridges (Part 1)
Finally went to explore the Southern Ridges yesterday, after it opened for so long. The journey was challenging as the sun showed no mercy in the clear blue sky, but it didn't really bother me as my attention was all on the surroundings to look out for something interesting to photograph. Started from the Marang Trail near HarbourFront and only managed to cover the journey up to the Hort Park after 3.5hrs! But it was definitely all worthwhile and I'd look forward to part 2 to completing the rest of the trail.

Ants, Bees & Fly (Southern Ridges)
Embarked on the journey of the Southern Ridges (part 1) today and was amazed by what the Nature could offer. Will post on the trail itself later but here's my shoots on the 6-legged creatures in the forest.
My favourite shots of the day were definitely on the bees at work on the flowers at the Faber Point. Strong wind and beautiful flowers at the top after a long walk up the Marang Trail, wonderful! The ants were everywhere in the forest so you only had to open your eyes up a little more to see some nice poses. This tiny fruit fly was incidentally sighted on the way down from Mt Faber toward Telok Blangah Hill.
